Abstract Greening has become one of the important factors to improve urban ecological environment, while urban green land is a necessary part of urban ecosystem, and plays an irreplaceably functional role. Based on the comprehensive analysis of the present situation of Chinese urban greening and some cases of city greening, some strategies and suggestions to improve city ecological environment, raise ecological benefit of urban greening, beautify scenery of city and enrich culture of city are described and proposed in this contribution.
